Procedures

Dr Wyten, through surgical procedures, can revise the texture, structure or position of normal bodily features. During consultation, Dr Wyten will create a treatment plan and discuss the surgery in detail, the potential risks and outcomes, ensuring every patient has a pragmatic view of what is, and isn’t possible with surgery.

Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants

Breast augmentation using implants can alter or increase the size and shape of your breasts and can be used to modify symmetry or add definition and cleavage. There is also an alternative option available that uses fat grafting, which utilises fat from other areas of the body to augment the breasts.

Breast Augmentation with Fat Grafting

Breast augmentation cosmetic surgery using fat grafting removes fat via liposuction from a patient’s thighs, abdomen, back or hips and injects it into the breast tissue. This procedure may require more than one operation to achieve an increase in breast fullness.

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery allows women to reduce the weight and size of breasts that may be heavy or uncomfortable and can also address concerns with symmetry, shape and the position of the nipple.

Mastopexy (breast lift)

Mastopexy surgery can be performed with or without implants. This procedure can change the fullness, shape and position of your breasts, which may have changed after pregnancy, breastfeeding, the natural ageing process or significant weight loss.

Breast Implant Removal or Replacement

Many women with cosmetic implants may need to replace them after ten years or may choose to do so if the implant has been displaced, ruptured or for personal choice. This procedure can be done with or without new implants being inserted.

Abdominoplasty

Is a surgical procedure that can address excess abdominal skin after significant weight loss, inconjuction with repair separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), which can, in turn, strengthen the core muscles.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure that can shape and contour the body by removing small fat deposits in areas such as the stomach, hips, legs, back. This fat may sometimes be used to perform breast enlargement through fat injections. Dr Wyten only performs this as an adjuvant procedure.

In Australia, seeing a doctor/general practitioner (GP) before booking for all surgery including is necessary.

This consultation will ensure that you are in good overall health and are a suitable candidate for surgery. Sometimes, you may also be referred to additional specialists to complete your management care.

If you are unsure of the best course of action to get started, please get in touch with our team; we’ll be more than happy to help.

Before making any decisions, it’s essential to understand what surgical procedures can achieve and also consider that your motivations and expectations are realistic.

All plastic surgery involves potential risks, which must be weighed carefully compared to potential benefits. If you have spoken to your GP, done some research and feel ready to take the next step, you can book your first consultation with Dr Wyten.

During your initial consultation, Dr Wyten will discuss the surgical procedure, ensure that you are aware of potential risks and benefits and discuss your expectations and what your post-surgery journey will entail. For detailed information, please visit: ‘Your First Consultation’.

A fee of $355 will apply for the consultation which is payable upon booking – this may be partially rebatable by Medicare, depending on your circumstances.

Both Medicare and private health insurance rebates can apply for certain cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. This will depend on:

  1. The type of surgery you are having
  2. The reason you are having it
  3. The level of health insurance you currently have.

Please contact our team to discuss possible rebates and associated item numbers.

Not only are there multiple types of surgeries that fall under these categories, but there are also many factors that can increase or decrease the costs of the surgery itself – such as if you need an overnight stay in the hospital, post-operative care, the type of implant used and many other possible differences.

It’s vital to research any plastic surgeon you are considering seeing and understand that there is a vast difference in skill sets and what surgery they are performing and level of aftercare.

Always ask for a details list of costings for the surgical journey and how private health insurance or self-insuring can impact your final cost.
